How to keep a seizure diary
The seizure diary is a simple notebook.
- Please make a note of all seizures that occur throughout the trial, until the end of the trial when the saliva samples have been collected.

Each time that the patient has a seizure, please write down:
- date and time of seizure
- how long did the seizure last?
- any observations about the seizure
Typical seizure observations could include details such as:

Trigger — did you notice anything that may have triggered the seizure?

Body — whole body / on the left / on the right side (from the patient’s perspective)

Movement — spasms / stiffness
4
Eyes — up / closed / left / right / staring / blinking / no change
5
Skin colour — blue / pale / no change
6
Mouth — dry / drooling / foaming / biting tongue
7
Accident — urination / defecation / none
8
After the seizure — sleeping / drowsy / alert / confused / paralysed / normal
